Duck Dynasty Family Launches Line of Guns

600x300-ddynasty    Gunmaker Mossberg has teamed up with Duck Commander, the company that is run by the Robertson family, to launch a line of shotguns, semi-automatic rifles, and one pistol. Better known in many circles because of the hit reality show Duck Dynasty on A&E, Duck Commander has been in business for nearly four decades.

Phil Robertson, who founded Duck Commander, also recently made headlines regarding a recent GQ interview, which caused him to be temporarily suspended from the television show.

Linda Powell, a spokesperson for Mossberg, told Fox 6 in Milwaukee that shipments are already being made to certain distributors.

True to the foundation of Duck Commander, the patterning on these firearms will be in a waterfowl configuration. Despite this, however, Mossberg says that not all of the guns are intended to be used solely for duck hunting. An American flag bandana will also come with the guns.

One of the rifles and the pistol are designed with large capacity mags of 25 .22 caliber rounds. Mossberg describes them as “perfect for small game, plinking, target shooting – or clearing cottonmouths out of your duck blind.”

So why the partnership? “The Robertson’s widespread appeal and ability to cross over into the mainstream has bridged millions to the traditions of hunting and sharing time in the field with family,” CEO Iver Mossberg said back in November in a statement released on the Duck Commander website.

Are you planning on getting a Duck Commander Mossberg? Why or why not?
