City of Chicago Decides Not To Appeal Gun Shop Ruling

600x300-bigstock-CHICAGO-ILLINOIS-JUNE----34269353    CHICAGO – The mayor’s office has decided that they will not appeal a recent ruling that says a complete ban on gun sales within the city violates the Second Amendment.

In a victory for 2nd. Amendment Rights earlier this week, a judge ruled that 2A rights must include the right to purchase a gun in order to be able to use one for self-defense.

A stay was given until next week that would allow Chicago to either appeal the ruling or set up specific sales restrictions on specific weapons that the city would not want sold within its limits.

“The courts have been clear from the Supreme Court on down as it relates to people’s access to guns,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said, according to 89 WLS.
